Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Disclosure Act of 2023

Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senator Mike Rounds (R-SD) are leading an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act called the Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Disclosure Act of 2023. The amendment aims to increase transparency, open scientific research, and create a UAP Records Collection by mandating government records related to UAPs carry the presumption of disclosure. The legislation involves bipartisan cooperation and follows the model of the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992.
